Inquiry Letters
In accordance with relevant electoral laws, the Registration and Electoral Office issues inquiry letters to the electors included in the inquiry process, and contact the electors concerned by telephone, mobile phone short message service, electronic mail or fax based on the contact information they provided, and remind them to update or confirm their registered addresses before the statutory deadline.
Starting from the 2022 voter registration cycle, the statutory deadline of replying the inquiry letters is 2 June of each year. Electors failing to reply the inquiry letters before the above statutory deadlines to confirm or update their registered addresses will be included in the “Omissions List”. Electors included in the “Omissions List” are required to make a claim, or confirm/update their registered addresses to reinstate their registration status; otherwise, their voter registration will be removed in the compilation of the next Final Register.
